The Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Abdul-Rahman Al-Fadhli, announced the completion of the establishment of a water transport and technology company, in implementation of the Cabinet’s decision to establish it, as the establishment of the company is one of the results of the privatization program in the water sector, as the Supervisory Committee for Privatization of the Environment, Water and Agriculture Sector has taken important steps towards restructuring the water sector.
The company will manage, operate and maintain water transport, support, and storage systems across the Kingdom, whose lengths are currently more than 8,400 kilometers to transport more than 7 million cubic meters of desalinated water daily to feed the various regions to achieve more efficiency and effectiveness, in addition to innovating new solutions in The fields of water technology and research, in one of the most important transformation steps that the water sector is witnessing to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The new state-owned company will achieve a quantum leap towards integrating the water sector business, by working on a commercial basis to maximize the use of assets, raise spending efficiency and reduce costs within the supply chain in the sector.
On this occasion, Eng.
